At only 28 years old,
professional soccer
player Amy Rodriguez
has experienced stunning success
in her athletic career. The lightning-
fast forward, known as "A-Rod" to
her teammates, plays for FC Kansas
City in the National Women's Soc-
cer League. A member of the U.S.
women's national soccer team since
2005, she helped the United States
win a gold medal at the 2008 Olym-
pic Games in Beijing, and again at
the 2012 Games in London. In be-
tween, she started in all 18 games she
played--scoring the biggest goals of
her life--at the 2011 FIFA Women's

Over the course of her career, the
Lake Forest, California, native has
picked up a slew of awards. Known
for her impressive speed, Rodri-
guez was an All-American in high
school. In 2005, Rodriguez was one
of the nation's top recruits and was
named National Player of the Year
by Parade magazine, EA Sports and
the NSCAA after scoring 17 goals
in 15 games for Santa Margarita
High. At the University of Southern
California, she was the fourth all-
time leading scorer in the school's
history. She went on to play profes-
sionally for West Coast FC,
