Napkins are things we use and discard every day. Life can
so easily be discarded as well. "A Sketch in Time" takes the
idea of a discarded napkin and redeems it through the art drawn
upon it. (This sketch depicts the Good Samaritan.) Take comfort in
knowing that God specializes in Redeeming the Discarded.
Not All is Lost
"But He said to me, `My grace is suffi cient for you, for My power
is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more
gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest
on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses,
in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in diffi culties.
For when I am weak, then I am strong."
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10--NIV)

The Most Harmful Food
A physician addressed a large audience:
"The food we put in our stomachs is enough
to kill most of us. Red meat is awful, soft
drinks ruin your stomach, Chinese food is full
of MSG and high-fat diets can be disastrous!"
The speaker continued: "Can anyone tell
me what food is the most harmful?"
The room was silent, until a 75-year-old
man in the front row raised his hand and
said, "Wedding cake?"
