Many of his writings are very uplifting. and inspiring magazine for many years. I feel compelled to share a truth about your story on war in the May War Cry. One of the most important elements in my life is inner peace. One day, while reading Philippians 4:7, God caused me to meditate on the concept of transcending peace. One word that defi nes my inner peace is freedom--freedom from confl ict, war and disorder. Something more in line with greater harmony. Transcend- ing peace is almost indescribable, like a supernatural freedom; and it is so real. Over the years I've found that this can only come from a relationship with Jesus. and then to a powerful statement in Rev. 21:4: "He will wipe away every tear, for the old order of things are passed away." In today's world, this seems inconceivable. If I didn't know Jesus and have faith and hope in His promises of forgiveness, grace and eternal life with Him, I would be so alone. But I know that God is always with me. And that is the peace that gives me a lot of com- fort. It also means a heavenly rest--the happiness of heaven's glorious rest. and the same struggles of life go on and on. But I know this is not my home, as life here is only a vapor, a mist (James 4:14). Through Jesus we are all overcom- ers, and through Jesus, God gave us His promise of eternity.
