Message on the Poster
"For You created my inmost being; You knit
me together in my mother's womb. I praise
You because I am fearfully and wonderfully
made. My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in the secret place. When
I was woven together in the depths of the
earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in
Your book before one of them came to be."
(Ps. 139:13-16)

Waking Up America
I just want to say that I think "Wak-
ing Up America," in the August War
Cry, is a great article. Franklin Graham
is one of my favorite writers. Many
of his writings are very uplifting.

Transcending Peace
I have been reading your truly wonderful
and inspiring magazine for many years.
I feel compelled to share a truth about
your story on war in the May War Cry.
One of the most important elements
in my life is inner peace. One day, while
reading Philippians 4:7, God caused me to
meditate on the concept of transcending
peace. One word that defi nes my inner
peace is freedom--freedom from confl ict,
war and disorder. Something more in
line with greater harmony. Transcend-
ing peace is almost indescribable, like a
supernatural freedom; and it is so real.
Over the years I've found that this can
only come from a relationship with Jesus.
From this I'm led to a renewed hope,
and then to a powerful statement in
Rev. 21:4: "He will wipe away every tear,
for the old order of things are passed
away." In today's world, this seems
inconceivable. If I didn't know Jesus and
have faith and hope in His promises of
forgiveness, grace and eternal life with
Him, I would be so alone. But I know
that God is always with me. And that is
the peace that gives me a lot of com-
fort. It also means a heavenly rest--the
happiness of heaven's glorious rest.
This world offers wars and rumors of wars,
and the same struggles of life go on and
on. But I know this is not my home, as
life here is only a vapor, a mist (James
4:14). Through Jesus we are all overcom-
ers, and through Jesus, God gave us His
promise of eternity. Jesus said, "To Him
who overcomes, I will give the right to
eat from the tree of life," which is God's
paradise (Rev. 2:7). That is so peaceful!
