found respite at the center and
received a hot meal, food staples
and personal care products.
Young people also participated in
children's activities at the center.
Major Lonneal Richardson,
commander of the Army's
Midland Division, said, "The tragic
events have impacted us all
deeply. As we move forward, we
are asking God to give us wisdom
to heal our community. We offer
our deepest sympathies to the
family of Mr. Brown and to all
who have been affected. We will
work together with community
leaders for the good of the
people of Ferguson."

Teach children to "crash and tell."
Immediately turn the computer off if
they suspect anything is threatening
or offensive or and then tell a parent,
guardian or teacher.

inappropriate material on your
computer by going to contentwatch.
com. And click on "Content Audit"

Place the computer in an open,
supervised area of your home.

Warn children to stay out of chat
rooms and newsgroups and off instant
messenger programs.

Tell children to never give out personal
info online or arrange to meet someone
in person that they met online. Never
share your name, age, address, email,
photos, family members' names or
school name.

Install a filter on your Internet.
Realize filters aren't foolproof and
that your child still needs supervision.

Monitor gaming
websites.

Role play with children about how
to act when they see something
inappropriate online.

Teach children the rapidity with
which addiction can occur.

Spend time online with your child.
This can help you learn what
potentially dangerous websites
your child visits, you will be able
to recognize changes in your
child's Internet use.
