heir story of sur-
vival is ripped
from the head-
lines. Samir Kat-
erji and Jacqueline Badro,
residents in Syria until
January 2014, were likely
targets for murder at the
hands of the vicious ter-
rorist faction, ISIS, mere-
ly because of their faith
and belief in Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior.
In a country where the number
of registered Christians is less than 10
percent, followers of Christ have a greater
than ever risk of extreme persecution,
kidnapping, and even murder.
"The church we belonged to in the city
of Aleppo was among those targeted by
members of ISIS and other opposing
factions," Samir explains. "I was a member
of our church council, and we became quite
concerned when our council leader was
kidnapped. That was over 400 days ago and
we still have no idea where he is."
