or Captains Keith
& Pamela Maynor,
parenthood is "a
calling from God."
With this calling comes
the responsibility to raise
their children in a Christ-
centered home, despite
being surrounded by a
world hostile to anything
remotely Christian.
"I cannot imagine trying to raise a family
today without having Christ at the center of
everything we do," Captain Keith explains.
"That's way too scary to think about!"
The couple's two daughters, Chayse,
four, and Riley, two, are immersed in love
and gentle instruction in all things prepar-
ing them for their eventual life as Christian
adults. Even their names have a godly-mes-
sage. "Chayse" means "Pursuer of Truth"
and "Riley" means "Protected by God."
"The girls know that everything we do,
we do together, and we bathe all we do in
prayer," Captain Pamela says. "Even in very
diffi cult times. I want my girls to see me
calling on the Lord when there is nowhere
else to turn. I want them to know how much
I need God when times get tough!"
