lated and lonely she must have felt.
Who could understand or care? Fi-
nally, she came to that desperate
place where she had to say, "Lord,
I can't do it myself. Help me."
Matthew 9:20-22 tells the
story: "Just then a woman who
had suffered for twelve years
with constant bleeding
came up behind Him. She
touched the fringe of his
robe, for she thought, `If I
can just touch His robe, I will
be healed.' Jesus turned around, and
when He saw her He said, `Daughter, be
encouraged! Your faith has made you well.'
And the woman was healed at that moment."
Author Max Lucado wrote about this
passage, refl ecting, "To the loved, a word
of affection is a morsel, but to the love-
starved, a word of affection can be a feast."
In this Easter season, we remember
Christ's supreme sacrifice. He died to dem-
onstrate His great love for us. His mission
was to restore the sick, the lost, the lonely
and all who are subject to the final insult
of death. The immensity of His love cannot
be measured. When someone loves us that
much, why do we hesitate to seek Him and
His help? What a wonderful assurance it is
to know He is always there, waiting, with
open arms for us to come to Him.
