`lan-, yap': a gift given or
obtained gratuitously.
God Loves "Nobodies."
He can take
any nobody and use him or her for His purposes and will. Read
in Mark 2:17, when Jesus says, "Healthy people don't need a doctor
--sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are
righteous, but those who know they are sinners." Now read it again,
replacing "righteous" with "somebody," and "sinners" with "nobody."
Every nobody God used throughout the Bible started out in humble
conditions. It wasn't until they began thinking that they were
somebody that they got into trouble. These nobodies probably
wouldn't be picked out in a crowd.
But God did, and still does, delight in using nobodies.
He can
work with a nobody. What He won't do is work with somebody who
thinks they are, well, somebody. That's because pride always leads
to other sins, thereby disqualifying their usefulness to a holy God.
In fact, go through the Bible and see for yourself how all the men
and women who failed God in some way or another did so only
after they started to think they had become
a real somebody.
Friends, there is only one real
somebody:
His name is Jesus.
The importance you might
think about yourself will
always hinder you from
becoming what He wants
for you--that is, until you
decide to surrender that
self-imposed esteem, and
become a nobody again. A
nobody that He can use.
Trust me, the somebody
we'd like to introduce you to
can really make something
beautiful of you!
That will only make the situation more
uncomfortable for you both.

Act Your Age.
Just because your
boss is younger, that doesn't mean
you should act younger. You don't have to
dress young, talk young or act young.
You'll come off looking foolish. Instead,
be yourself. Instead of showing off how
cool you are, focus instead on the quality
of your work.
If you are older than your boss, turn
this into a positive. The best route is to
neutralize any thought connected to age,
demographics or background by simply
recognizing that we all bring talents and
qualifi cations to the table. We are never
too old to learn something, and we can
always learn from each other.
