Good versus evil. God versus
Satan. That first Passover ex-
pressed by lamb's blood splashed
upon a doorpost portended Jesus'
blood splashed upon the cross.
God's adversary in the Passion
of Christ is, as ever, slithering
Satan, who is coiled tightly around
the Temple in Jerusalem. The
earthly church is under the twisted
power of a man named Joseph
Caiaphas. Satan manipulates the
conquering Caesars of Rome to em-
power his imposter as the high
priest in order to bring God's cho-
sen nation to apostasy.

he ancient Passover feast approaches
holy Jerusalem like a rumbling storm on the
horizon. This storm is of a spiritual nature,
heralding the momentous clash between
two high priests. After millennia, God has
staged the encounter He promised long
ago in Eden: "I will cause hostility between
you (the serpent) and the woman, and be-
tween your offspring and her offspring. He
will strike your head, and you will strike His
heel" (Genesis 3:15).
