It took a long time to build up the nerve as I argued with God,
finding so many reasons not to obey. Finally, I raced up to
him and blurted out: "I am supposed to tell you that God
loves you." Then I ran off, went to the counter, paid for my
stuff and left. That was "hit and run" evangelism -- only effective
because of obedience and letting God take care of the follow up.
We call it evangelism, sharing our faith, sharing Jesus, getting
others saved, sharing the good news and telling others about
God's love for them. When you discover something good, you
want to tell others about it so they can share the joy of
that discovery with you.
I am shy by nature, so when I am challenged by God to step
outside of my routine or my comfort zone, my body goes into
"fight or flight" mode. My heart beats faster, my stomach feels
like someone turned it into an ice hockey rink, my hands get
shaky and my brain begins to inform me about all the reasons
why I should not do whatever it is God has prompted. Fortu-
nately, God is the One who designed me to be who He needs
me to be, and He knows that I am much better at "friendship
evangelism" (build a relationship with someone and then tell
them about Jesus) than I am at "confrontational evangelism"
(going up to total strangers and confronting them about
their need for salvation.)
In the 70s it was popular to be

Laws
to lead someone to accept
Jesus Christ as their personal
Savior. Basically, the Four
Spiritual Laws are: God
loves you. Sin separates
us from God. Jesus

The first time I felt God prompting me to go and speak
to someone I was shopping in a store when I saw a young
man and felt I should go tell him that God loved him.
