The Influence of One Life
I can see the changes that
you've made in
the War Cry and
I think they are
great.
Your Febru-
ary 18th article,
"The Influence
of One Life,"
was very inter-
esting. Although
we live in Los Angeles, I'd never
heard that story before. I like
"How I Met the Army" and "Ask
Aunt Sally." I'm glad to see that
you are including a Bible Study.

It's Not Just About Tim
I received a blessing from the
article, "It's Not Just About Tim"
in the February
4th issue of the
War Cry. As I
read and then
saw the photos
of people bowing
in honor to God
around the world
in different situa-
tions, the Holy
Spirit fell upon me and I began to
weep and thank God. Excellent
article. It indeed brought glory to
the Kingdom.
One last thing. May The Salva-
tion Army never lose its evangeli-
cal message for which William
Booth gave his life.

Enclosed is my renewal for a
oneyear subscription to the War
Cry magazine. I must say that
over the years we've enjoyed the
War Cry, and we are enjoying the
messages to the Seven Churches
of the Book of Revelation.

The End of the World
What if the prediction in your
January 7th arti-
cle,"The End of
the World?" had
been right on
schedule? Jesus
told all of us to
"Watch! Be
ready!" We
should all ask
ourselves, "Am I
ready to meet the Lord?"
In prison, the old saying "you
never know how much you need
God until God is all you have" has
proven to be so full of truth that
I've dedicated my life to God and
am not ashamed to confess my
faith.
I had seen the War Cry in our
chapel a thousand times but had
never picked one up to read.
Finally, someone brought one to
the dorm and placed it in the
bookcase next to me. Holy Spirit
led? God knows. I'll never forget
to pick up another one.

Remembering
I met The Salvation Army
when as a little girl I attended
Sunday school in Chicago. My
teacher, Captain Clara Stanley,
became a missionary in southern
Rhodesia, and we corresponded
for many years. My mother died
when I was 10, and she was buried
in her Salvation Army uniform.
Many things happened since
then. I was confirmed Lutheran
because my dad remarried and his
second wife was Lutheran. I have
had a blessed life!
I get the War Cry now and have
for many years. That's my only
connection to the Army now. It
brings back fond memories.
Thank you.
