still thank the doctor
who saved me. I certainly
thank God for the extra
time He has allowed me
to still be here. And every
month I thank The Salva-
tion Army for all the help
they have given me.

Extra Copies
The August 18th issue of
the War Cry was simply
outstanding! Extra copies
were retained by me to
send to my friends in the
Salvation Army world.
You and your staff are to
be commended for such
a wonderful focus on
William Booth. Truly, he
was a man of
God. Keep up
the good work.

Scripture Alive
I wanted to write and let
you know how much I en-
joy your "Encounters with
Christ" Bible Study. You
make the stories come
alive and emphasize facts
that most of us miss. I'm
already looking forward
to my next issue of the
War Cry. I like to share my
copy with others here
at the Friendly Home
Touching Souls
We enjoyed the article
on Gold-medalist Gabby
Douglas and her love for
the Lord in the Septem-
ber 15th War Cry. Thank
you for telling readers
that her father was de-
ployed and was unable
to be there. The media
coverage neglected to
point this out and it was
assumed by many that
she lives in a single-
parent situation.
God has gifted your
staff to be able to share
His love and care through
salvation in the printed
media. May He continue
to bless you all as you
touch souls for Him.

God in the Room
Every month I receive a
copy of the War Cry from
the Salvation Army food
pantry. It brings back so
many memories. I have
never lost Christ in my
life, but I have had an
even greater reason to
believe He is in my life.
I had to have serious
surgery, and I know in
my heart that besides the
greatest doctor and staff,
God was in the operating
room, too. I was always a
believer but my faith has
become even stronger
since then. It's been more
than three years and I
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
(where I am a resident)
but by the time I cut out
pictures, the cartoon, po-
ems, etc., there isn't much
left. Thank you for this
wonderful publication.

Had To Be
Thank you for your Bible
study in the July 7th
issue on how Jesus was
tempted by Satan in the
wilderness. For God's
plan of salvation to take
place, this had to be
part of the program.
(Ephesians 1:4-5.)

Thanks Aunt Sally
I loved Aunt
Sally's answer
on safe sex! (see
August 4th War
Cry
). She covered
all the bases with
honesty, clarity
and gentleness. Also,
what a great interview
with Dan Hudson! And
the testimony of Denise
Hunt grabbed my heart.
This was an issue I would
proudly share with many!
