To pay by check:
great work it does. That actually is
probably the most rewarding thing
I do with the Dallas Cowboys."
The Cowboys' involvement with
The Salvation Army far exceeds
the Thanksgiving Day game. Mem-
bers of the team help serve a special
meal to the clients at the Army's
Carr P. Collins Center in Dallas, the
largest Salvation Army social ser-
vice facility in the United States.
They also support The Salvation
Army Boys' and Girls' Clubs and
community centers in the Dallas/Ft.
Worth area as well as the Army's
work during the Christmas sea-
son. Both Jerry Jones and Charlotte
Jones-Anderson serve on The Salva-
tion Army National Advisory Board.
Asked what he wished other
people knew about The Salva-
tion Army, Jerry Jones was quick
to respond. "We have a saying in
football: `Don't run around the
block. Run through it.' The Salva-
tion Army runs around no blocks.
They go right through, neutraliz-
ing the problem and then trying
to accomplish some good from it."
Charlotte JonesAnderson offers
her closing sentiment. "To the people
of The Salvation Army I want to say
something real simple. Thank you."
And thank you Jerry Jones,
Charlotte JonesAnderson and the
Dallas Cowboys players and or-
ganization for helping The Sal-
vation Army help others.
"It's exceeded anything I could have imagined" says Jerry Jones of the
kickoff to the seasonal campaign that benefits millions of Americans
through Salvation Army programs.
