10 ways you can help
raise awareness about the devastating
influences of pornography during WRAP
week and throughout the year:
1. Wear a white ribbon (available from www.wrapfamily.com);
2. Share a sermon or teach a Bible lesson about
God's call for Christians to be sexually pure;
3. Create and share a list of resources about sexual
addiction treatment services available in your
community;
4. Show the film Somebody's Daughter or The Price
of Pleasure and host a discussion about pornography's
impact on individuals and society;
5. Talk to your children and grandchildren about
pornography and its harms;
6. Inform your community by organizing a public
event featuring an expert on pornography's harms;
7. Ask your state legislators or city executives
to pass a WRAP Proclamation (contact:
[email protected]);
8. Use social media to promote WRAP Week
and websites like pornharms.com;
9. Politely make complaints to businesses that
distribute or advertise pornography and
obscene material;
10.Pray and fast that God would free those
caught in the spiritual bondage of sexual
addiction and sexual sin.

White Ribbon Against
Pornography (WRAP)
Week is intended to
educate the public about
the extent of our society's
pornography problem.
WRAP also creates a
unique opportunity
to raise the issue of
pornography within
the Church and to call
Christians to renewed
lives of sexual purity
and freedom.

The War Cry | September 1, 2012
to read Scripture at my
corps, I'm going to add
Captain Miller's sugges-
tion, "This is the Word of
God for the people [Army]
of God," though I don't
know if our people will
respond with "Hallelujah!"
Thanks again for an
inspiring issue.

Black on White
Profound thanks for the
clear format of the July
21st issue of the War Cry.
Most of the issue is in very
clear black print on white
background. For some
time the War Cry has had
most articles printed with
black print on colored
(blue, gray, yellow, brown)
backgrounds (e.g. May 26,
pg 1213) with small fonts.
Most of the July 21st is-
sue--and all of the very
good history issue are in
clear black print on white
pages. The fonts also
seem larger. We "old folks"
really do appreciate this.
I have been blessed for
many years by the War Cry
and have been grieved by
the small print on color
background and small
fonts which I can read only
with the utmost difficulty, if
at all.
Keep up the good work.

The Word
The July 7th issue of the
War Cry was exceptionally
well done, from the strik-
ing cover to the conversa-
tion with Dr. Jonathan
Raymond, Bob Hostetler
on prayer, and Captain
Andy Miller's "A Reason to
Shout Hallelujah!" As a
Bible teacher, I especially
appreciate the emphasis
on the Word of God.
Next time I'm asked
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
.....................
Bridging the
Language Gap
I have a friend who is from
Thailand and a Buddhist.
She knows I'm a Christian,
but somehow I've never
been able to converse with
her about the love of God
and our Savior Jesus
Christ. You printed John
3:16 in the Thai letters.
When I showed it to her,
her eyes lit up and I know
the message of that great
verse touched her heart.
I am grateful that The Sal-
vation Army reaches out
to people of all languages.
