The War Cry of The Salvation Army
Doing the Most Good: these four words
reflect The Salvation Army's legacy of
putting valuable resources back to
work in a positive way, whether they
are material resources like donated
clothing or human resources such as
people recovering from addictions. This commit-
ment is also evident in our choice of recycled
paper for our magazines.
Both War Cry and Young Salvationist magazines
are printed on more than 90percent recycled
coated paper from FutureMark Paper Company,
the only such North American producer making
this kind of paper.
It takes far less energy, water, chemicals and
trees to manufacture new paper from old than from
wood pulp. Paper recycling also helps divert waste
from landfills, which are typically onethird paper,
according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
"The Salvation Army was one of the earliest cus-
tomers to choose our paper for its highrecycled
content" said Steve Silver, FutureMark's president.
The Army's use saves enough in a year to provide
46 average American homes with power, save
2,864,000 gallons of water and eliminate 420,500 lbs.
of greenhouse gases, equivalent to emissions from
38 cars.

Congratulations
to Owen Gilliam for being
the first person to find the
hidden (violin) image on
page 22 of the March 3,
2012 War Cry! Congratu-
lations also to Matthew
Carboni, youth leader
Assistant at the Yuba/
Sutter Corps in California.
Here is a movie for anyone
wondering if the Christian faith
is still relevant in a postmodern
culture, or thirsting for a genuine
encounter with a God who is real,
or yearning for a renewed sense
of passion in life.
"Blue Like Jazz," based on Don
Miller's New York Times best-seller,
is a fresh and original perspective
on life, love and redemption.
See how a 19-year-old tries
to escape his Bible Belt upbringing for life in the Pacific
Northwest on "the most godless campus in America."
Director Steve Taylor brings to life Don Miller's remark-
able journey back from burnout as a zealous
follower of Jesus Christ. Selection: South by
Southwest Film Festival.
