The War Cry | NOVEMBER 2015
BOUNDLESS
SALVATION
We were surprised,
humbled,
encouraged and
blessed to be
included among
those who have, and
are making, such a
deep and lasting
imprint on this Mission work for God. (See
"Israel Gaither, BarrierBreaker" on pg. 38
of July issue.) Thank you for considering
us to perhaps be, in some measure,
worthy of this sacred honor.
Needless to say, each publication of the
War Cry is fi lled with accounts of God's
work through His people in amazing ways.
And we thank you and your team for so
effectively bringing to life, month after
month, so many otherwise unknown
stories of those who are so beautifully
serving this Kingdom-mission.
And so we press on, committed to living
on purpose for Christ. Please accept our
warm thanks from grateful hearts.

and Eva D. Gaither, Via email
In the article on Evangeline Booth on
page 28 of the July issue, it says the
following: "Evangeline Cory Booth
entered the world as the 17th child of
William and Catherine Booth." I was
surprised to read that and found that
she was the seventh child of the Booths.
Thank you for the July edition of the
War Cry celebrating 150 years of God's
faithfulness. I loved reading it. In fact, I
read some of it a couple of times and
was truly blessed by its history and
ongoing humble service to God's people.
Thank you for being "Keepers of the
Salvation Flame."

I found the July 2015 issue of the
War Cry most interesting with its
historical content. I'm quite sure you
have had comments about the error in
the article on Evangeline Booth.

We have received the July edition of
War Cry, published by yourself, and it is
very, very informative. I feel it is very
good, and I would like to send my
appreciation.

I fi nd only four such visions: Isaiah's,
Ezekiel's, Paul's (formerly Saul) and John
the Revelator's. Two other biblical fi gures
are mentioned as having been given
glimpses of heaven: Micaiah and Stephen.
Even God stated very clearly in
I Corinthians 2:9 that no eye has seen,
and no ear has heard the things that He
has prepared for those that love Him! But
along comes a man who states otherwise,
and we give his story a national spotlight
through our magazine?
Perhaps Mr. Piper believes he saw
heaven, but God's own Word tells us he
did not!

A MODERN-DAY
LAZARUS
I was concerned
to fi nd that a
two-page spread
had been devoted
to espousing the
story of Don Piper
in the most recent
edition of the War Cry. The September
2015 article touts Mr. Piper as a
modern-day Lazarus! When did we
begin printing stories and statements
which oppose Holy Scripture?
Jesus clearly stated: "No one has ever
gone into Heaven except the one who
came from Heaven" (John 3:13, NIV).
Every single account of Heaven
mentioned in Holy Scripture is a vision...
